dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menguji secara empiris hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dengan perilaku konsumtif pada mahasiswi psikologi angkatan 2022 Universitas Medan Area. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 71 mahasiswi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Analisis data yang digunakan peneliti adalah korelasi Product Moment (rxy) = 0,709 dengan signifikansi P = <0,010. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa hipotesis yang diajukan peneliti diterima, yaitu terdapat hubungan negatif antara kepercayaan diri dengan perilaku konsumtif mahasiswi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan secara nilai rata-rata hipotetik dan empirik kepercayaan diri tergolong rendah, sebab dilihat dari perbandingan rata-rata empirik 63,94 yang berselisih melebihi bilang SD (5,787) dengan rata-rata hipotetiknya (70). Kemudian perilaku konsumtif tergolong tinggi, sebab dilihat dari perbandingan rata-rata empirik 80,55 yang berselisih melebihi bilang SD (6,152) dengan rata-rata hipotetiknya (70). Adapun sumbangan efektif dari kepercayaan diri terhadap perilaku konsumtif sebesar 50,2% dan 49,8% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lainnya yang tidak diungkap pada penelitian ini. This research aimed to determine and empirically test the correlation between self-esteem cmd consun ptive behavinr among psrchologystudents from the 2022 cohort at University of Medan Area. The study emiployed a quantitative method. The sample consisted of 71 female srndents, selected nsing purposive sampling. The data analysis wilized the Product Moment correlation, yielding rxy= 0.709 with significanreP=<0.010.These results indicated that the hypothesis proposed by the researcher was accepted, showing a negative corclation between selfesteem and consumptive behavior among the students. Based on the results of the calcuation of the hypothetical average value and cmpirical self confidence is classified as tow, becrnse it is seen from the comparison of empirical average of 63.94 which is af odds more than say SD (5.787) with the hypothetical average (70). Then consumptive behavior is high, because it can be seen from the comparrisow ofthe empirical mean of 80 55 which dispules exceeds said SD (6,152)with is hypothetical average (700. The effective contribution of selfesteem to consuagive behavior was foumi to be 50. 2%, white 49.8% was affecied by other factors not addressed in this studyen_US
