This study aims to determine the correlation between self-esteem and the tendency of narcissistic behavior in adolescent users of Tik Tok in Sirantau Village, Tanjung Balai City. The population of this study was 80 adolescents and the number of samples in this study was 60 adolescents. The sampling technique used was incidental sampling. Data collection was carried out using a Likert scale model with two scales, namely the selfesteem scale and the narcissistic behavior scale. Based on the results of the product moment correlation analysis calculation, it can be seen that there is a significant negative correlation between the self-esteem variable and narcissistic behavior. This result is evidenced by the correlation coefficient rxy = -0.251 with a significant p = 0.000 <0.05. From these results, the determinant coefficient (r2) of the correlation between the independent variable and the dependent variable is r2 = 0.330. This shows that self-esteem is distributed by 33.0% towards narcissistic behavior. Based on the results of the mean test, it can be concluded that self-esteem is classified as high with a hypothetical mean value of 87.5 and an empirical mean of 110,550. Furthermore, narcissistic behavior can be concluded to obtain moderate results with a hypothetical value of 65 and an empirical value of 74,733. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that self-esteem has a correlation with narcissistic behavior in adolescent Tik Tok users in Sirantau Village, Tanjung Balai City. |
