dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan positif antara pola asuh otoriter dengan kecerdasan emosional pada remaja di SMK 1 Parulian Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis product moment. Sampel berjumlah 50 orang yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala likert. Hasil analisis korelasi product-moment menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif antara kecerdasan emosional dengan gaya pengasuhan otoriter, dengan Ru = 0,849 menunjukkan adanya korelasi yang signifikan (p= 0,000<0,05). Koefisien determinasi (R2) kedua variabel adalah r2 = 0,721 yang menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional dipengaruhi oleh pola asuh otoriter sebesar 72,1% dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Disimpulkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional tergolong tinggi dengan mean ahyporhetical sebesar 40, mean empiris sebesar 47,72, dan standar deviasi sebesar 6,716. Pola asuh otoriter juga tergolong tinggi dengan mean sebesar 37,5, mean empiris sebesar 47,72, dan standar deviasi sebesar 6,716. This research aimed to determine whether there was a positive correlation hetween authoritarian parenting style and emotional intelligence among adolescents at Parulian 1Vocational High School, Medan. The study used a quantitative approach with a product-moment analysis technique. The sample consisted of 50 individuals, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale. The results ofthe product-moment correlationanalysis revealed a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and authoritarian parenting style, with Ru = 0.849 indicating a significant correlation(p= 0.000<0.05). The coefficient of determination (R2) for the two variables wasr2 = 0.721, which showed that emotional intelligence was influenced by the authoritarian parenting style by 72.1%, with the remainder shaped by otherfactors. It was concluded that emotional intelligence was classified as high, with ahyporhetical mean of 40, an empirical mean of 47.72, and a standard deviation of 6.716. The authoritarian parenting style was also classified as high, with a mean of37.5, an empirical mean of 47,72, and a standard deviation of 6.716.en_US
