This research aims to determine the correlation between perceptions of job demandss and work stress for police personnel at the Serdang Bedagai Police Station. Work stress is a condition of tension that affects a person's thinking process, emotions and condition. The result is that excessive stress can threaten a person's ability to deal with the environment and will ultimately interfere with the implementation of their duties. In general, stress is an external stimulus that disrupts the physical and psychological functions of an individual's body. To measure work stress, a scale is used based on aspects of work stress according to Beehr (in Angwen, 2017), namely; (a) Physiological Aspects, (b) Psychological Aspects, and (c) Behavioral Aspects. The population in this study was police personnel at Serdang Bedagai Police, totaling 334 people. The research sample was 64 police personnel from the Traffic Division at the Serdang Bedagai Police Station. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling, namely a sampling technique based on certain traits or characteristics. The data collection method was carried out using the job demands perception scale and work stress scale. Based on the results of the r product moment correlation calculation, it can be seen that there is a negative correlation between perceived job demands and job stress where rxy = -0.535 with a significant p = 0.000 P < 0.05, meaning that the proposed hypothesis is that the more negative the perception of job demands, the higher the job stress is expressed accepted. The determinant coefficient (r2) of the correlation between the independent variable (X) and the dependent variable (Y) is r2 = 0.286. This shows that perceived job demandss contribute to work stress 28.6%.
