dc.description.abstractPerkembangan dan persaingan perusahaan semakin ketat. Kondisi ini menuntut perusahaan untuk selalu mengembangkan strategi perusahaan agar dapat bertahan atau dapat lebih berkembang. Oleh karena itu, perusahaan perlu mengembangkan suatu strategi yang tepat agar dapat bertahan hidup, berkembang dan berdaya saing. Salah satu strategi yang bisa dilakukan oleh perusahaan yaitu dengan cara merger. Merger adalah proses penggabungan dua entitas dengan salah satu diantaranya tetap berdiri dengan nama entitasnya, sedangkan yang lain lenyap. Merger dapat mempengaruhi anggota organisasi dalam banyak hal, menghasilkan pengalaman emosional yang beragam, yang kemungkinan besar akan memengaruhi perilaku individu dan menentukan keberhasilan pengelolaan merger. Emosi negatif yang dialami oleh pimpinan perusahaan adalah stres, ketakutan, kekhawatiran, dan rasa tidak aman, terutama dipicu oleh ambiguitas mengenai peran masa depan mereka dan peran bawahan mereka dalam organisasi yang baru bergabung. Stres kerja dapat mempengaruhi terhambatnya proses merger dan menurunkan produktivitas kerja sehingga diperlukan coping untuk menghadapi masalah tersebut. Coping yang dilakukan dapat berbeda beda. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 4 responden dengan kualifikasi jawbatan wakil kepala, kepala bagian dan kepala sub bagian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan banyak konflik konflik yang terjadi selama proses merger yang menjadi sumber stress pimpinan. Sumber stress ini berdampak pada kesuksesan proses merger. The development and competition of companies are getting tighter. This condition requires companies to always develop corporate strategies in order to survive or develop further. Therefore, companies need to develop an appropriate strategy in order to survive, develop and be competitive. One strategy that can be done by a company is through a merger. A merger is the process of combining two entities with one of them remaining with the name of its entity, while the other disappears. Mergers can affect members of an organization in many ways, resulting in a variety of emotional experiences, which are likely to affect individual behavior and determine the success of merger management. Negative emotions experienced by company leaders are stress, fear, worry, and insecurity, mainly triggered by ambiguity about their future roles and the roles of their subordinates in the newly merged organization. Work stress can affect the hampering of the merger process and reduce work productivity so that coping is needed to deal with these problems. Coping that is done can vary. The number of respondents in this study was 4 respondents with the qualifications of deputy head, head of section and head of sub-section. The research method used in this study was a qualitative method. The results of the study showed many conflicts that occurred during the merger process which became a source of stress for leaders. These sources of stress impact the success of the merger process.en_US
