This research scientifically examines secondary metabolite compounds found in the leaves and roots of rosemary plants (Rosmarinus officinalis) from Dolat Rayat Village using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The aim of this research was to identify secondary metabolite compounds in rosemary leaves and roots. This research method uses the maceration method, where 50 grams of sample is soaked in 96% ethanol solvent with a ratio of 1:10 at room temperature for 3 x 24 hours. The secondary metabolite test results showed that the leaves and roots of the rosemary plant were positive for terpenoids. Apart from that, in the GC-MS analysis the group of compounds that were identified were the main terpenoid compounds, namely 9-Tetradecen-1-ol and Dodecanal in both parts of the plant, with the addition of 3-Cyclohexene-1-acetaldehyde and Cyclohexene,1-methyl-4 -(1-m) at the root. The highest levels of terpenoid compounds were found in the leaves, namely 21.063%, while in the roots it was 12.971%. This research provides deeper insight into the chemical composition and pharmacological potential of the rosemary plant, which can be utilized in the development of herbal and medicinal products.
