Abstract: Kota Medan merupakan salah satu kota besar yang sedang melakukan pembangun di segala bidang, menurut ketersediaan sarana dan transportasi yang baik. Melihat kondisi tersebut dan memperhatikan tingkat perkembangan kota dan pertumbuhan lalu lintas, diharapkan mampu melayani arus lalu lintas yang lewat. Namun kemacetan masih saja merupakan pemandangan yang wajib pada setiap harinya, terutama pada daerah ruas jalan.Beberapa faktor pendukung terjadinya kemacetan, yaitu bertambahnya jumlah penduduk dan kebutuhan akan sarana transportasi, kendaraan yang berhenti dan parkir, penyeberang jalan, dan kendaraan tak bermotor. Penelitian ini tentang kinerja lalu lintas akibat besarnya hambatan samping terhadap kecepatan pada suatu ruas jalan. Beberapa metode yang dapat digunakan untuk menganalisa kinerja suatu ruas jalan diantaranya adalah Pedoman Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 2014. Dari hasil perhitungan didapat volume kendaraan tertinggi di jalan Gatot Subroto KP Lalang sebesar 1266,8 skr/jam dengan kapasitas ruas jalan sebesar 1240,206 skr/jam. Derajat kejenuhan di jalan Gatot Subroto KP Lalang sebesar 1,00 skr/jam. Hambatan samping yang terjadi dari Gatot Subroto KP Lalang arah ke Medan 628,6 dan hambatan samping yang terjadi dari arah sebaliknya sebesar 595,8. hambatan samping di jalan Gatot Subroto KP Lalang memiliki tingkat hambatan samping tinggi(H). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Jalan Gatot Subroto KP Lalang memiliki tingkat pelayanan kelas E, yaitu Volume lalulintas mendekati mendekati/berada pada kapasitas,arus tidak stabil,kecepatan terkadang terhenti. Dan dapat disarankan memberikan rambu rambu lalu lintas, menambah lahan parkir, melalukan penertiban secara berkala untuk pedagang dan sosialisasi pengemudi angkutan umum agar tidak berhenti disembarang bahu jalan. The city of Medan is one of the big cities that is developing in all fields, based on the availability of good facilities and transportation. Seeing these conditions and paying attention to the level of city development and traffic growth, it is hoped that it will be able to serve the passing traffic flow. However, traffic jams are still a mandatory sight every day, especially on roads. Several factors support the occurrence of traffic jams, namely the increase in population and the need for transportation facilities, stopped and parked vehicles, pedestrians and nonmotorized vehicles. This research is about traffic performance due to the magnitude of side obstacles on speed on a road section. Several methods that can be used to analyze the performance of a road section include the 2014 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines. From the calculation results, it was found that the highest vehicle volume on the Gatot Subroto KP Lalang road was 1266.8 cur/hour with a road capacity of 1240,206 cur/hour. . The degree of saturation on the Gatot Subroto KP Lalang road is 1.00 cur/hour. The side resistance that occurs from Gatot Subroto KP Lalang in the direction of Medan is 628.6 and the side resistance that occurs in the opposite direction is 595.8. Side obstacles on Jalan Gatot Subroto KP Lalang have a high side resistance level (H). It can be concluded that Jalan Gatot Subroto KP Lalang has a class E service level, namely the traffic volume is approaching/at capacity, the flow is unstable, the speed sometimes stops. And it can be recommended to provide traffic signs, add more parking spaces, carry out regular controls for traders and socialize public transport drivers so that they don't stop anywhere on the road shoulder.
