dc.description.abstract | Awal kehidupan universitas menjadi peristiwa menegangkan bagi para mahasiswa, baik secara akademis, sosial dan pribadi. Mahasiswa membutuhkan psychological well-being dalam proses yang sedang mereka hadapi. Psychological well-beingberperan penting pada kesehatan mental individu secara keseluruhan karena mencerminkan kapasitas individu dalam mengatasi berbagai tantangan kehidupan. Kehadiran dukungan sosial menjadi salah satu prediktorpsychological well-being. Dukungan sosial yang dirasakan mempengaruhi cara individu memandang dirinya sendiri dan dunia di sekitarnya. Self-esteem memainkan peran penting dalam hubungan keduanya. Dengan memperkuat self-esteemakanberdampak positif pada kehidupan emosional dan psikologis mahasiswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji model peran mediasi self-esteem pada pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap psychological well-being mahasiswa Baru pada Institut Agama Islam Daar Uluum. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling dengan melihatkan 225 mahasiswa baru. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode Structural Equation Model (SEM) melalui program Smart PLS 4.0. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan dukungan sosial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap psychological well-being dengan nilai koefisien 0,545, p-Values = 0,000 < 0,05., dukungan sosial berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap self-esteem dengan nilai koefisien 0,542 dan p-Values = 0,000 < 0,05., Self-esteem berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap psychological well-being dengan nilai 0,332 dan nilai p-Values = 0,000 < 0,05. Uji peran mediasi self-esteem, dengan hasil T-Statistic sebesar 3,713(T Statistic > 1,96) dan P-Values sebesar 0,000 (< 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut self-esteem mampu memediasi pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap psychological well-being pada mahasiswa baru. Dukungan sosial yang dimiliki mahasiswa selama awal kehidupan universitas akan meningkatkan psychological well-beingnya melalui peran self-esteem. The start of university life is a stressful event for students, academically, socially and personally. Students need psychological well-being during this process. Psychological well-being plays an important role in an individual's overall mental health, as it reflects an individual's ability to cope with various life challenges. The presence of social support is one of the predictors of psychological well-being.Perceived social support affects the way individuals perceive themselves and the world around them. Self-esteem plays an important role in the relationship between the two. Strengthening self-esteem will have a positive impact on the emotional and psychological life of students. The purpose of this study is to test the mediating role of self-esteem in the effect of social support on the psychological well-being of new students at Daar Uluum Islamic Institute. This research was conducted quantitatively using a total sampling technique with 225 new students. The results showed that social support has a positive and significant effect on psychological well-being with a coefficient value of 0.545, p-values = 0.000 <0.05, social support has a positive and significant effect on self-esteem with a coefficient value of 0.542 and p-values = 0.000 <0.05, self-esteem has a positive and significant effect on psychological well-being with a value of 0.332 and p-values = 0.000 <0.05. The mediating role of self-esteem was tested with the results of T-statistic of 3.713 (T-statistic> 1.96) and P-values of 0.000 (<0.05). Based on the results of this study, self-esteem is able to mediate the effect of social support on the psychological well-being of new students.
