dc.description.abstract | Diabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan suatu kelompok penyakit metabolik dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia yang terjadi karena kelainan sekresi insulin, kerja insulin atau keduanya fungsi insulin yaitu untuk mengatur keseimbangan kadar gula dalam darah, apabila asupan glukosa/karbohidrat terlalu banyak maka insulin tidak mampu menyeimbangi kadar gula dalam darah dan terjadi hiperglikemi . Diabetes Melitus dan gangguan kolesterol merupakan kombinasi mematikan yang menempatkan pasien Diabetes Melitus 2-4 kali lebih beresiko terhadap terjadinya penyakit kardiovaskular, penyakit jantung koroner, aterosklerosis dini dan stroke. Individu yang mempunyai pola makan buruk berisiko 3,8 lebih besar terkena Diabetes Melitus dibandingkan yang mempunyai pola makan baik. Bila seseorang menjaga pola makan dengan baik seperti konsumsi rendah gula dan tinggi serat (lebih banyak makan buah dan sayuran), hal inidapat memperkecil risiko menyandang Diabetes Melitus T2. Kementerian Kesehatan RI juga menyebutkan bahwa konsumsi makanan yang tidak seimbang, tinggi gula,dan rendah serat juga merupa-kan faktor risiko Diabetes Melitus. Diabetes Melitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases with the characteristics of hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action or both functions of insulin, namely to regulate the balance of blood sugar levels, if the intake of glucose/carbohydrates is too much, insulin is not able to balance blood sugar levels and hyperglycemia occurs. Diabetes Melitus and cholesterol disorders are a deadly combination that puts Diabetic Melitus patients 2-4 times more at risk of cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease, premature atherosclerosis and stroke. Individuals with a poor diet have a 3.8 percent greater risk of developing Diabetes Melitus than those with a good diet. If a person maintains a good diet such as consuming low sugar and high fiber (eating more fruits and vegetabels), this can reduce the risk of having T2 Diabetes Melitus. The Indonesian Ministry of Health also mentioned that the consumption of unbalanced foods, high in sugar, and low in fiber is also a risk factor for Diabetes Melitus. | en_US |
