This research aimed to examine the effect of group communication on public speaking skills within the Generasi Baru Indonesia/ New Generation Indonesia (GenBI) community in North Sumatra. The research method used was descriptive quantitative. The sampling in this research used the Slovin formula, involving 80 members from the GenBI community, with random sampling techniques. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to respondents who met the criteria and were tested using SPSS with validity tests, reliability tests, F tests, determination coefficient tests, simple linear regression tests, and Pearson correlation tests. The results showed that group communication had a significant positive effect on public speaking skills in the Generasi Baru Indonesia (GenBI) community in North Sumatra by 52%, with a Pearson correlation value of 0.719, concluding that group communication affected public speaking skills. |
