dc.description.abstract | Perkembangan teknologi rekayasa pelapisan listrik (electroplating) telah banyak memberikan konstribusi yang cukup signifikan terhadap laju pertumbuhan industri dalam skala besar bahkan industri dalam skala kecil. Industri skala besar diarahkan untuk sektor produksi seperti kabel bawah laut, jaringan sistem komunikasi kabel bawah laut mengalami gangguan karena kabel tersebut terputus terkena jangkar kapal. Kuningan yang dilapisi plastik merupakan salah satu bahan yang digunakan pada bidang kabel bawah laut, berbagai komponen kabel bawah laut yang harus memenuhi persyaratan seperti kekuatan, tahan aus, dan tahan beban kejut dan sebagainya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh proses penempaan pada bahan kuningan yang diperkuat plastik terhadap kekuatan impak yang dihasilkan. Masalah difokuskan pada peningkatan kekuatan impak melalu proses tersebut dalam eksperimen yang dilakukan, spesimen kuningan dengan ukuran panjang 55 mm, lebar 10 mm, dan variasi tebal 4 mm, 5 mm dan 6 mm dipanaskan hingga suhu 550° C dan kemudian ditempa untuk menciptakan struktur mikro yang lebih padat dan homogen. Setelah proses penempaan, spesimen tersebut diperkuat dengan spesimen plastik mcblue dan plastik teflon dengan ukuran yang serupa, yang bertujuan untuk menahan ketahanan terhadap beban impak. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan spesimen yang telah ditempa dan diperkuat dengan plastik mcblue memiliki rata-rata energi impak 13,48 Joule dan kekuatan impak rata-rata sebesar 0,163 J/mm2. Hasil ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dibanding dengan material yang tidak diperkuat, menandakan bahwa kombinasi proses penempaan dan penguatan dengan plastik efektif dalam meningkatkan ketahanan impak material. The development of electroplating engineering technology has made a significant contribution to the growth rate of large-scale industry and even small-scale industry. Large-scale industry is directed at the production sector such as submarine cables, the submarine cable communication system network experienced disruption because the cable was cut off by a ship's anchor. Brass coated with plastic is one of the materials used in the field of submarine cables, various components of submarine cables which must meet requirements such as strength, wear resistance and shock load resistance and so on. This research aims to analyze the effect of the forging process on plastic-reinforced brass materials on the resulting impact strength. The problem focused on increasing impact strength through this process. In the experiments carried out, brass specimens measuring 55 mm long, 10 mm wide, and varying thicknesses of 4 mm, 5 mm and 6 mm were heated to a temperature of 550° C and then forged to create a microstructure. which is denser and more homogeneous. After the forging process, the specimen is reinforced with McBlue plastic and Teflon plastic specimens of similar size, which aims to withstand impact loads. Test results show that specimens that have been forged and reinforced with Mcblue plastic have an average impact energy of 13.48 Joules and an average impact strength of 0.163 J/mm2. These results show a significant improvement compared to unreinforced materials, indicating that the combination of forging and strengthening processes with plastic is effective in increasing the impact resistance of the material. | en_US |
