Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan metode hot press dalam produksi lembaran plastik HDPE daur ulang serta mengevaluasi karakteristik mekanisnya, khususnya kekuatan tarik dan kekuatan tekuk. Proses hot press melibatkan penyesuaian parameter seperti suhu, tekanan, dan durasi pemanasan yang presisi, yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap kualitas akhir material. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa baik kekuatan tarik maupun kekuatan tekuk dipengaruhi oleh ketebalan material serta durasi pemanasan. Variasi ketebalan dapat menyebabkan distribusi stres yang tidak merata, sementara durasi pemanasan yang tidak tepat memengaruhi homogenitas material, berujung pada kekuatan mekanis yang bervariasi. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pengendalian proses yang baik dalam mencapai kualitas produk optimal. This research aims to utilize the hot press method in the production of recycled HDPE plastic sheets and evaluate their mechanical characteristics, especially tensile strength and bending strength. The hot press process involves precisely adjusting parameters such as temperature, pressure and heating duration, which greatly influences the final quality of the material. The test results show that both tensile strength and bending strength are influenced by material thickness and heating duration. Thickness variations can cause uneven stress distribution, while inappropriate heating duration affects material homogeneity, leading to varying mechanical strength. This research emphasizes the importance of good process control in achieving optimal product quality. |
