Komunikasi Interpersonal Konselor Laktasi dalam Mengedukasi Ibu Menyusui (Studi Fenomenologi Komunikasi Interpersonal Konselor Asosiasi Ibu Menyusui Indonesia Wilayah Sumatera Utara di Kota Medan)

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Komunikasi interpersonal Konselor Laktasi dalam mengedukasi Ibu menyusui (Studi Fenomenologi Pada Komunikasi Interpersonal Konselor Asosiasi Ibu Menyusui Indonesia Wilayah Sumatera Utara di Kota Medan). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motif konselor, komunikasi interpersonal konselor dengan pasien, komunikasi verbal dan non-verbal yang dilakukan konselor dalam memberikan edukasi kepada pasien. Teori yang digunakan adalah komunikasi kesehatan, komunikasi interpersonal, studi fenomenologi dan interaksi simbolik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif yang menjadikan studi fenomenologi landasan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga konselor memiliki tujuan yang mulia yaitu tulus membantu para ibu yang memiliki masalah dalam menyusui. Adanya keterlibatan komunikasi interpersonal yang baik dan penuh empati serta menggunakan alat peraga dan berbagai media membuat para pasien yaitu ibu menyusui teredukasi akan pentingnya menyusui dan cara menyusui yang baik dan benar. This research is titled "Interpersonal Communication of Lactation Counselors in Educating Breastfeeding Mothers (Phenomenological Study on Interpersonal Communication Indonesian Breastfeeding Association’s Counselors North Sumatra Region in Medan)." The aim of this study is to understand the motives of counselors, the interpersonal communication between counselors and patients, and the verbal and non-verbal communication used by counselors in educating patients. The theories used include health communication, interpersonal communication, phenomenological studies, and symbolic interactionism. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, with phenomenological study as its foundation. The results of the research show that the three counselors have noble intentions, which are sincerely helping mothers who have breastfeeding problems. Good interpersonal communication involving empathy and the use of visual aids and various media help educate breastfeeding mothers about the importance of breastfeeding and the correct breastfeeding techniques.
