The study aims to analyze the contribution and feasibility of location-based goat farming in North Sumatra. The study was conducted in Langkat, Deli Serdang and Serdang Bedagei Regencies using a survey method in 3 sub-districts that were deliberately selected based on the largest goat population. The number of samples in this study was 60 samples, each with 20 respondents from each research location. The analysis methods used were income analysis, R?C ratio and Location Quotient. The results of the analysis showed that the R/C ratio value of 2.43 indicated that it was possible to continue and develop goat farming in Langkat, Deli Serdang and Serdang Bedagei. The contribution of goat farming in North Sumatra was 37.7%, which illustrates that income from goat farming can be a staple business if it is managed properly. It is proven that side maintenance has a significant impact on the total income of farmers. The LQ value obtained of 2.61 is quite high, indicating that the population and availability of goats in North Sumatra, in addition to being able to meet local needs, can also be an opportunity for export based on the location of the business.en_US
