The plantation sector in Indonesia, particularly rubber, plays a significant role in the economy and social life of the community. Indonesia, with the largest rubber plantation area in the world, contributes 22.02% to global rubber production. North Sumatra Province, especially Langkat Regency, has great potential in developing this sector. However, various challenges such as price fluctuations, minimal infrastructure support, and capital issues hinder the development of the rubber sector. This study aims to analyze the influence of ecological, economic and social, infrastructure, and technological variables on the sustainability of rubber agribusiness in Langkat Regency. Analysis using the PLSSEM model measures the impact of ecological, economic and social, infrastructure, and technological variables on sustainability and agribusiness. The results show that ecological variables have a negative effect on sustainability, while economic and social variables, as well as infrastructure, have a positive effect. Sustainability positively affects agribusiness, and technology does not significantly affect sustainability. There are significant indirect effects of ecology and economic and social variables on agribusiness, while infrastructure and technology do not have indirect effects. This study provides insights for rubber farmers, local governments, and other stakeholders to improve the sustainability of rubber agribusiness. |
