Abstract: Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor sosial ekonomi yang mempengaruhi keputusan alih fungsi lahan tanaman kopi ke tanaman jeruk dan menganalisis dampak keputusan alih fungsi lahan tanaman kopi ke tanaman jeruk terhadap pendapatan usahatani. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan metode kuantitatif. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di Desa Merek Raya, Kecamatan Raya, Kabupaten Simalungun, Sumatera Utara. Lokasi penelitian ini dipilih dengan alasan bahwa Kecamatan Raya merupakan salah satu kecamatan yag menjadi sentra produksi kopi dan jeruk di Sumatera Utara. Penentuan sampel dilakukan secara random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 responden. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa umur, jumlah tanggungan, jumlah produksi jeruk, harga jeruk, harga pupuk dan harga pestisida berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan alih fungsi lahan tanaman kopi ke tanaman jeruk, sedangkan pendidikan dan pengalaman bertani tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan alih fungsi lahan tanaman kopi ke tanaman jeruk. Keputusan petani melakukan alih fungsi lahan tanaman kopi ke tanaman jeruk layak dilakukan karena secara ekonomis lebih menguntungkan ditinjau dari rata-rata produksi yang dapat mencapai 14,28 ton/tahun dengan harga rata-rata mencapai Rp. 8.556,67/kg. The study aims to analyze socio-economic factors that influence the decision to convert land from coffee to citrus plants and to analyze the impact of the decision to convert land from coffee to citrus plants on farm income. The research method used in this study uses qualitative and quantitative methods. The location of the study was conducted in Merek Raya Village, Raya District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra. The location of this study was chosen because Raya District is one of the sub-districts that is a center for coffee and citrus production in North Sumatra. The sample determination was carried out by random sampling with a sample size of 30 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression tests. The results of the study showed that age, number of dependents, amount of citrus production, price of oranges, price of fertilizers and price of pesticides had a significant effect on the decision to convert land from coffee to citrus plants, while education and farming experience did not have a significant effect on the decision to convert land from coffee to citrus plants. The decision of farmers to convert land from coffee plants to citrus plants is feasible because it is economically more profitable, viewed from the average production which can reach 14.28 tons/year with an average price of Rp. 8,556.67/kg.
