dc.description.abstractTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan pola asuh otoriter dengan kecerdasan emosional siswa yang menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Adapun populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 319 siswa dan sampel 63 siswa dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis korelasional dalam pengujian hipotesis. Berdasakan hasil analisis korelasi product moment terlihat bahwasanya ada hubungan negatif antara pola asuh otoriter dengan kecerdasan emosional. Temuan ini diambil berdasarkan pada coefficient correlation rxy = -0,625 dengan taraf signifikansi p = 0,000 < 0,050. Selanjutnya, koefisien determinasi (r2) keterkaitan antara variabel independen dan variabel dependen ialah r2= 0,391. Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwasanya pola asuh otoriter mempunyai kontribusi terhadap kecerdasan emosional sebesar 39,1%. Berdasarkan hasil uji mean pola asuh otoriter tergolong tinggi dengan nilai mean hipotetik sebesar 95 dan mean empiriknya sebesar 108,40. Selanjutnya kecerdasan emosional memperoleh hasil rendah dengan nilai hipotetik sebesar 125 dan nilai empiriknya sebesar 105.63 This research aimed to examine the correlation between authoritarian parenting style and emotional intelligence among students. using a quantitative method. The population of this research consisted of 319 students, with a sample size of 63 students selected using purposive sampling technique. This research used correlational analysis techniques to test the hypothesis. Based on the results of the product-moment correlation analysis, it was found that there was a negative correlation between authoritarian parenting style and emotional intelligence. This finding was based on a correlation coefficient of rxy = -0.625 with a significance level of p = 0.000 < 0.050. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (r2) for the relationship between the independent and dependent variables was r2 = 0.391. This indicates that authoritarian parenting style contributed 39.1% to emotional intelligence. Based on the mean test, the authoritarian parenting style was categorized as high with a hypothetical mean of95 and an empirical mean of 108.40. Meanwhile, emotional intelligence showed a low result, with a hypothetical value of 125 and an empirical value of 105.63.en_US
