This study aims to determine the relationship between father involvement and psychological well-being in adolescents at the Faculty of Engineering. The population in this study were 1,835 students at the Faculty of Engineering, Medan Area University, and the number of samples in this study was 249 students. The sampling technique used was the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a Likert scale model with two scales, namely the father involvement scale and the psychological well-being scale. Based on the results of the product moment correlation analysis calculation, it can be seen that there is a significant positive relationship between the father involvement variables (X1, X2, X3) and the psychological well-being variables. From these results, the determinant coefficient (r2) of the relationship between the independent variable (X1) and the dependent variable is r2 = 0.465. The determinant coefficient (r2) of the relationship between the independent variable (X2) and the dependent variable is r2 = 0.355. The coefficient of determinant (r2) of the relationship between the independent variable (X3) and the dependent variable is r2= 0.295. Based on the results of the mean test, it can be concluded that father involvement is classified as low with a hypothetical mean value of 75 and an empirical mean of 57,100. Furthermore, psychological well-being can be concluded to have low results with a hypothetical value of 108 and an empirical value of 70.536. |
