Utilization of waste heat energy from solar panel inverters with thermoelectric technology is an innovative approach to gain additional benefits from solar panel systems. Solar panel inverters produce heat as a byproduct and are usually wasted. In this study, I designed and built a system that uses thermoelectric modules to convert waste heat into additional energy. Thermoelectric modules are strategically installed on solar panel inverters to capture waste heat and convert it into electrical energy. Experiments were conducted to test the performance of this system in generating additional electrical energy and energy efficiency. The experimental results showed that the utilization of waste heat energy from solar panel inverters with thermoelectric technology can produce a voltage of 5 volts and a current of 2.11 mA and has the potential to increase the overall efficiency of the solar panel system. |
