Coffee mistletoe (Loranthus ferrugineus Roxb.) is a group of pest plants whose life depends on a living host or is known as a parasite. Coffee mistletoe leaves are known to have properties as antibacterial, anticancer, antidiabetic and antifungal. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of coffee mistletoe leaf extract (Loranthus ferrugineus Roxb.) as an antibacterial for E. coli and S. typhi. The method used was experimental using the disc diffusion method then the data was analyzed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) test. The concentrations used were 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The results showed that coffee mistletoe leaf extract was able to inhibit the growth of S. typhi bacteria with the largest inhibition zone diameter shown at a concentration of 25%, namely 7.25 mm. While for E. coli bacteria with the largest inhibition zone diameter shown at a concentration of 25%, namely 10.96 mm. The results of the LSD (Least Significant Difference) test of 0.05 on S. typhi bacteria of 7.4 mm indicate that there is no significant difference between treatments (p <0.05). Variation of coffee mistletoe leaf extract. While in E. coli bacteria, the LSD test value of 0.05 of 5.6 mm indicates that there is an antibacterial effect on several treatments (p <0.05). |
