Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi ekstrak etanol rumput belulang (Eleusine indica. L) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Escherichia coli. Metode yang digunakan bersifat ekstepimental dengan menggunakan metode difusi cakram kemudian data dijelaskan secara deskriptif. Konsentrasi yang digunakan yaitu 25, 50, 75, dan 100% dengan 3 (tiga) kali pengulangan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol rumput belulang (Eleusine indica. L) memiliki potensi yang bagus dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli. Zona hambat yang paling besar diperoleh pada konsentrasi 75% dengan diameter zona hambat rata-rata sebesar 24,8mm sedangkan zona hambat minimum diperoleh pada konsentrasi 50% dengan zona hambat rata-rata 18,1mm. Pada konsentrasi 100% terdapat zona hambat 20,6 mm sedangkan pada konsentrasi 25% tidak ada zona hambat yang menunjukkan tidak ada pengaruh ekstrak dari rumput belulang. Kontrol positif kertas cakram menunjukkan pengaruh yang sangat kuat dengan zona hambat 40,1 mm sedangkan kontrol negative Aquadest tidak menunjukkan adanya aktifitas antibakteri. Simpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah Ekstrak Etanol Rumput Belulang memiliki potensi dalam menghambat pertumbuhan E.coli. Ekstrak 75% menunjukkan zona hambat paling besar terhadap bakteri E.coli dengan zona hambat yang terbentuk sebesar 24,8 mm dan termasuk kategori kuat. This study aims to determine the potential of ethanol extract of belulang grass (Eleusine indica. L) in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli. The method used is experimental using the disc diffusion method, then the data is explained descriptively. The concentrations used were 25, 50, 75, and 100% with 3 (three) repetitions. The results obtained indicate that ethanol extract of belulang grass (Eleusine indica. L) has good potential in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria. The largest inhibition zone was obtained at a concentration of 75% with an average inhibition zone diameter of 24.8 mm while the minimum inhibition zone was obtained at a concentration of 50% with an average inhibition zone of 18.1 mm. At a concentration of 100% there was an inhibition zone of 20.6 mm while at a concentration of 25% there was no inhibition zone indicating no effect of the extract from belulang grass. The positive control of disc paper showed a very strong effect with an inhibition zone of 40.1 mm while the negative control of Aquadest showed no antibacterial activity. The conclusion in this study is that the Ethanol Extract of Belulang Grass has the potential to inhibit the growth of E. coli. The 75% extract showed the largest inhibition zone against E. coli bacteria with an inhibition zone formed of 24.8 mm and is included in the strong category. |
