Abstract: | Antibiotik merupakan senyawa yang memiliki kemampuan menghambat atau membunuh mikroorganisme lain bersifat patogen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui beberapa jenis antibiotik terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, waktu penelitian selama bulan Mei 2024 sampai dengan bulan Juli 2024 di Laboratorium Biologi Universitas Medan Area. Metode Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pengujian secara invitro di laboratorium dengan metode difusi cakram atau metode Kirby Bauer. Antibiotik yang digunakan adalah chloramfenicol, amoxicilin, klindamisin, gentamisin. Hasil penelitian sensitivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dilakukan dengan melibatkan empat jenis antibiotik komersil. Hasil pengukuran diameter zona hambat beberapa antibiotik terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus diketahui bahwa sensitivitas antibiotik yang paling baik terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus ditunjukkan oleh antibiotik chloramphenicol dengan nilai zona hambat yang dihasilkan adalah 16,9 mm. Selanjutnya sensitivitas terbaik kedua ditunjukkan oleh antibiotik gentamisin dengan nilai zona hambat sebesar 12,4 mm. Antibiotik yang menunjukkan nilai zona hambat paling rendah terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus adalah clindamicyn dengan nilai zona hambat sebesar 7,9 mm. Kategori sensitivitas antibiotik dalam menghambat bakteri patogen dikategorikan menjadi sensitif, intermediate dan resisten. Antibiotics are compounds that have the ability to inhibit or kill other pathogenic microorganisms. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of several types of antibiotics against Staphylococcus aureus. The research was conducted from May 2024 to July 2024 in the Biology Laboratory of Universitas Medan Area. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with in vitro testing in the laboratory using the disk diffusion method or Kirby-Bauer method. The antibiotics used are chloramphenicol, amoxicillin, clindamycin, and gentamicin. The results of the study on the antibacterial sensitivity of Staphylococcus aureus involved four types of antibiotics. Based on the measurement of inhibition zone diameter, it was found that antibiotic sensitivity varied. Staphylococcus aureus showed the highest inhibition zone with chloramphenicol, with a diameter of 16.9 mm. Next, gentamicin showed an inhibition zone of 12.4 mm. The antibiotic with the lowest inhibition zone against Staphylococcus aureus was clindamycin, with a zone diameter of 7.9 mm. The sensitivity category of antibiotics in inhibiting pathogenic bacteria is classified into sensitive, intermediate, and resistant. |
