Opini Mahasiswa Universitas Imelda Terhadap Tayangan Youtube Podcast Kesehatan Channel Dr. Tirta Pengpeng Video #Suaratirta Mental Illness

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dapat mempercepat informasi yang disampaikan oleh media secara digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi opini mahasiswa Universitas Imelda terhadap tayangan YouTube podcast kesehatan channel Dr. Tirta Pengpeng, khususnya video #SuaraTirta Mental Illness, serta dampaknya setelah menonton. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan penentuan informan melalui teknik incidental sampling sebanyak 5 informan, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa konten kesehatan mental yang disajikan oleh Dr. Tirta sangat penting untuk edukasi. Mahasiswa mengakui video tersebut mudah dipahami dan memberikan wawasan bermanfaat, meskipun tidak semua gangguan mental dibahas secara mendalam, menunjukkan perlunya konten yang lebih komprehensif. Hasil wawancara juga mengungkapkan adanya stigma negatif terhadap gangguan mental, dimana mahasiswa sepakat bahwa edukasi melalui video sangat penting untuk mengatasi stigma tersebut. Mereka menekankan pentingnya berbagi pengalaman dalam mengatasi masalah kesehatan mental untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih mendukung. Kesimpulan dari enelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa YouTube sebagai platform memberikan akses mudah dan kapan saja terhadap informasi kesehatan mental, meningkatkan pemahaman dan literasi mahasiswa. Konten tentang kesehatan mental berkontribusi pada kesadaran individu dan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan mental setara dengan kesehatan fisik. Teori Agenda Setting dan Uses and Effects menunjukkan bahwa media, termasuk YouTube, memiliki kekuatan untuk mempengaruhi opini publik dan memberikan dampak positif pada penonton. Technological developments can accelerate the delivery of information through digital media. This study aims to explore the opinions of Imelda University students regarding the YouTube health podcast channel Dr. Tirta Pengpeng, specifically the video #SuaraTirta Mental Illness, and their impact after watching. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and determining informants through incidental sampling techniques with 5 informants, this study found that the mental health content presented by Dr. Tirta is very important for education. Students acknowledged that the video was easy to understand and provided useful insights, although not all mental disorders were discussed in depth, indicating the need for more comprehensive content. The interview results also revealed a negative stigma towards mental disorders, where students agreed that education through videos is crucial to overcome this stigma. They emphasized the importance of sharing experiences in overcoming mental health problems to create a more supportive environment. The conclusion of this study shows that YouTube as a platform provides easy and anytime access to mental health information, increasing student understanding and literacy. Content about mental health contributes to individual awareness and the importance of maintaining mental health on a par with physical health. Agenda Setting and Uses and Effects theories indicate that media, including YouTube, has the power to influence public opinion and have a positive impact on viewers.
