Peran Penyuluh Pertanian terhadap Tingkat Produksi Usahatani Padi (Studi Kasus: di Desa Lengau Seprang Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran penyuluh pertanian dalam meningkatkan produksi padi di Desa Lengau Seprang, Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi peningkatan produksi tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner, wawancara langsung, dan observasi di lokasi penelitian. Dari total populasi 618 petani, sampel sebanyak 86 petani dipilih menggunakan rumus Slovin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran penyuluh pertanian dalam peningkatan produksi padi di desa ini tergolong tinggi. Persentase peran penyuluh dalam berbagai aspek meliputi edukator (82,67%), diseminasi informasi/inovasi (85,52%), fasilitasi (84,36%), konsultasi (84,53%), dan supervisi/pembinaan (71%). Dari aspek tersebut, peran paling dominan adalah dalam diseminasi informasi/inovasi dengan nilai 85,52%. Analisis faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi padi menunjukkan bahwa variabel luas lahan (X1) dan peran penyuluh (X6) memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil produksi (Y) dengan nilai signifikan < 0,05. Sebaliknya, variabel benih (X2), pupuk (X3), pestisida (X4), dan tenaga kerja (X5) tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap produksi padi dengan nilai signifikan masing-masing di atas 0,05. Oleh karena itu, hipotesis alternatif (H1) ditolak untuk variabel X2, X3, X4, dan X5, sedangkan hipotesis nol (H0) diterima, menegaskan bahwa luas lahan dan peran penyuluh merupakan faktor utama yang berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan produksi padi di wilayah penelitian. This study aims to analyze the role of agricultural extension workers in increasing rice production in Lengau Seprang Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, and to identify factors influencing this increase. The method used was qualitative research, with data collection techniques using questionnaires, direct interviews, and observations at the research site. From a total population of 618 farmers, a sample of 86 farmers was selected using the Slovin formula. The results of the study indicate that the role of agricultural extension workers in increasing rice production in this village is quite high. The percentage of extension workers' roles in various aspects includes education (82.67%), information/innovation dissemination (85.52%), facilitation (84.36%), consultation (84.53%), and supervision/guidance (71%). Of these aspects, the most dominant role was in information/innovation dissemination, with a score of 85.52%. Analysis of factors influencing rice production shows that land area (X1) and the role of extension workers (X6) significantly influence yield (Y) with a significance value of <0.05. Conversely, the variables seed (X2), fertilizer (X3), pesticide (X4), and labor (X5) do not significantly influence rice production, with significance values ​​above 0.05 for each. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is rejected for variables X2, X3, X4, and X5, while the null hypothesis (H0) is accepted, confirming that land area and the role of extension workers are the main factors contributing to increased rice production in the study area.
