Penggunaan Internet Terhadap Perilaku Delinkuen Remaja Dengan Self-control Sebagai Mediator

Abstract

Perilaku delinkuen bentuk gangguan tingkah laku yang berulang dan menetap, di mana perilaku tersebut melanggar norma sosial atau aturan-aturan sesuai usia remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran self-control dalam memediator pengaruh penggunaan internet terhadap perilaku delinkuen remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan populasi sebanyak 929 siswa SMP di salah satu sekolah di Banda Aceh. Kriteria populasi yang ditentukan mencakup siswa berusia 13–15 tahun, memiliki gadget yang digunakan untuk mengakses internet, dan pernah melakukan perilaku delinkuen. Berdasarkan kriteria tersebut, diperoleh partisipan sebanyak 181 siswa yang menjadi sampel penelitian. Pengolahan data dilakukan menggunakan metode Structural Equation Model (SEM) yang dioperasikan melalui program Partial Least Square (PLS) dengan menggunakan software SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Penggunaan internet berpengaruh positif terhadap perilaku delinkuen remaja (2) Penggunaan internet berpengaruh negatif terhadap self-control remaja (3) Selfcontrol berpengaruh negatif terhadap perilaku delinkuen remaja, dengan nilai koefisien (4) Self-control signifikan memediasi hubungan antara penggunaan internet dan perilaku delinkuen remaja. Delinquent behavior is a form of repetitive and persistent behavioral disorder, where the behavior violates social norms or rules according to the age of the teenager. This study aims to determine the role of self-control in mediating the influence of internet use on adolescent delinquent behavior. This study uses a quantitative approach with a population of 929 junior high school students in one of the schools in Banda Aceh. The population criteria determined include students aged 13-15 years, have gadgets used to access the internet, and have committed delinquent behavior. Based on these criteria, 181 students were obtained as research samples. Data processing was carried out using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method operated through the Partial Least Square (PLS) program using SmartPLS software. The results of the study showed that (1) Internet use has a positive effect on adolescent delinquent behavior (2) Internet use has a negative effect on adolescent self-control (3) Self-control has a negative effect on adolescent delinquent behavior, with a coefficient value of (4) Self-control significantly mediates the relationship between internet use and adolescent delinquent behavior.
