dc.description.abstractTransportasi umum dapat menjadi salah satu solusi dalam menangani permasalahan kemacetan di kota-kota besar seperti Kota Medan, akibat adanya peningkatan jumlah pengguna kendaraan bermotor pribadi. Terminal menjadi fasilitas atau sarana pelayanan umum yang berfungsi sebagai tempat berlangsungnya kegiatan masyarakat dalam menggunakan transportasi umum, seperti angkutan kota dan desa, bus kota atau BRT, angkutan antar kota dalam provinsi, maupun angkutan antar kota antar provinsi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meredesain atau merancang kembali Terminal Terpadu Tipe Pinang Baris Kota Medan dengan penerapan konsep transit oriented development (TOD), sehingga terminal ini dapat menjadi lebih baik dan mampu meningkatkan minat masyarakat dalam menggunakan transportasi dan fasilitas umum. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif yang meliputi proses pencarian ide, kajian pustaka, studi banding, pengumpulan data, dan pengolahan data, sehingga menghasilkan konsep perancangan terminal. Selanjutnya konsep perancangan tersebut akan dituangkan ke dalam gambar kerja, 3d modeling serta rendering, dan video animasi hasil redesain terminal tersebut. Hasil penelitian dan redesain terminal ini berupa desain baru Terminal Terpadu Tipe A Pinang yang menerapkan prinsip dari konsep TOD. Public transportation can be one of the solutions to address traffic congestion issues in big cities like Medan, where there is an increase in the number of private motor vehicle users. Terminals serve as public facilities or services that function as a place for community activities involving public transportation, such as city and village transportation, city buses or Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), inter-provincial transportation, and inter-city transportation between provinces. The objective of this research is to redesign or redevelop Terminal Terpadu Tipe A Pinang Baris in Medan City using the concept of transit-oriented development (TOD), so that the terminal can become more efficient and increase the public's interest in using public transportation and facilities. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach, which includes the process of generating ideas, literature review, comparative studies, data collection, and data processing to develop the terminal's design concept. Subsequently, the design concept will be translated into working drawings, 3D modeling, renderings, and an animated video showcasing the redesigned terminal. The outcome of this research and terminal redesign will be a new design for Terminal Terpadu Tipe A Pinang Baris that implements the principles of TOD.en_US
