Abstract: The human need for building materials efisien, economical and easy in execution, led to investigation in that regard, one of which is concrete, jam as the construction of concrete buildings also for highway construction is rigid, retaining walls, and is also useful for non-structural like wall dividers or wall insulation and the wall of the trench.In the processof making construction materials many various types of cement, ranging from portland type, I, II and III, all of this type are intended to have their respective functions, but again the need for concrete that efficient, economical and workability more sought after, To that end, much has been done in order to find and alternative but equally mindful of enviromental effects that do not have a negative impact on nature, one way to reduce the use of sand that produces a new product of concrete known as concrete mixture with the addition of baking powder and cement water factor of 0.5 is more magnified with the intention of not reducing the volume of concrete in general.In this study, baking powder (Sodium Bikarbonate) were mixed with a mixture of concrete with a variation of 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and non sand concrete mix baking powder will be tested compressive strenght and increase in volume. Having done the research and testing of the concrete result obtained, namely a decrease of concrete compressive strength compared to non sand without baking powder mixture of 174.81 kg/m³, 159.76 kg/m³, 146.17 kg/m³, and 135.66 kg/m³. As for testing the volume increase does not change any volume, because this variation of the mixture is too low
