This study explores the role of semiotics in film communication, focusing on the cultural and ideological representations conveyed through visual and narrative elements. Through media, we gain insights into social realities often beyond our reach, with film serving as a representation of these realities. Film conveys social meaning through signs and symbols, and semiotics plays a critical role in how these signs are understood. Communication in film acts as a bridge that connects the narrative elements, and it is closely tied to semiotics. This study employs a qualitative approach using semiotic analysis based on Roland Barthes' theories, including the concepts of Signifier, Signified, Connotative Sign (Myth), and patriarchy. The findings reveal that films communicate complex social realities through signs, where elements such as patriarchy are subtly embedded in the narrative structure, influencing the audience's perception of the film. This research highlights the importance of understanding semiotic structures in films to better comprehend how cultural and ideological messages are conveyed, contributing to a broader understanding of media as a tool for social reflection and communication. |
