dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan auditory verbal orang tua dalam menstimulasi kemampuan mendengar, bicara, dan bahasa anak dengan gangguan pendengaran yang menggunakan alat bantu dengar dan/atau implan koklea. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada keterbatasan studi sebelumnya yang lebih banyak menekankan pada hasil penggunaan teknologi amplifikasi pendengaran tanpa memperhatikan peran keterampilan orang tua. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologis, melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi terhadap orang tua (khususnya ibu) yang memiliki anak dengan gangguan pendengaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan auditory verbal orang tua berperan penting dalam proses pembelajaran mendengar secara alamiah, berjenjang, dan berkelanjutan. Orang tua terlibat aktif dalam menciptakan situasi komunikasi sehari-hari melalui strategi menstimulasi kesadaran bunyi, menirukan suara, mengasosiasikan bunyi dengan objek, serta melatih anak dalam pola percakapan. Faktor pengetahuan, wawasan, serta sikap orang tua memberikan kontribusi pengaruh pada keberhasilan intervensi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa auditory verbal bukan hanya teknik terapi, tetapi juga bentuk keterampilan mendengar yang berkembang dalam interaksi keluarga. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberi kontribusi pada pengembangan Psikologi Pendidikan dan intervensi habilitasi pendengaran di Indonesia, khususnya dalam merancang pelatihan keterampilan auditory verbal bagi orang tua serta mengintegrasikannya ke dalam pendidikan inklusif bagi anak dengan gangguan pendengaran. This study aims to describe parents’ auditory-verbal skills in stimulating the listening, speaking, and language abilities of children with hearing impairments who use hearing aids and/or cochlear implants. The background of this research is based on the limitations of previous studies, which mostly emphasized the outcomes of hearing amplification technology without paying sufficient attention to the role of parental skills. The method used was a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, conducted through in-depth interviews and observations of parents (particularly mothers) who have children with hearing impairments. The results show that parents’ auditory-verbal skills play a crucial role in the natural, gradual, and continuous process of learning to listen. Parents actively engage in creating everyday communication situations through strategies such as stimulating sound awareness, imitating sounds, associating sounds with objects, and training children in conversational patterns. Parents’ knowledge, understanding, and attitudes significantly contribute to the success of intervention. These findings emphasize that auditory-verbal practice is not only a therapeutic technique but also a listening skill that develops within family interactions. This study is expected to contribute to the development of Educational Psychology and hearing habilitation interventions in Indonesia, particularly in designing auditory-verbal training programs for parents and integrating them into inclusive education for children with hearing impairments.en_US
