The objective of this study is to observe and empirically examine the correlation between learning motivation and student engagement among students at SMA Negeri 1 Kualuh Selatan. This research employs a quantitative correlational design. The population in this study consists of 286 students from SMA Negeri 1 Kualuh Selatan. A sample of 98 tenth-grade students was selected for the study. The sampling technique used in this research is total sampling. The instrument was measured using a four-point Likert scale, consisting of both favourable (positive) and unfavourable (negative) statements. Based on the results of the product-moment correlation analysis, it was found that there is a positive correlation between learning motivation and student engagement. This result is supported by the correlation coefficient rₓᵧ = 0.855 with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (r²) for the correlation between the independent and dependent variables is r² = 0.731. This indicates that learning motivation contributes 73.1% to student engagement. Based on the mean test results, it can be concluded that student engagement is categorized as low, with a hypothetical mean value of 50 and an empirical mean value of 40.46. Furthermore, student engagement is also classified as low, with a hypothetical mean of 80 and an empirical mean of 74.89.en_US
