Hubungan antara Self-Esteem dengan Resiliensi pada Mahasiswa Perantauan di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui serta menguji secara empiris tentang hubungan self-esteem dengan resiliensi pada mahasiswa perantauan di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitaif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 83 mahasiswa. Berdasarkan dari hasil analisis penelitian, diketahui ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara selfesteem dengan resiliensi dilihat dari nilai koefisien (𝒓𝒙𝒚) yang memiliki nilai 0,522 dengan p atau signifikansinya 0,001 < 0,050, yang artinya ada hubungan antara self-esteem dengan resiliensi pada mahasiswa perantauan di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area. Begitu juga dengan nilai koefisien determinan (r²) yang memiliki nilai 0,273, hal ini setara dengan 27,3% artinya bahwa self-esteem berkorelasi sekitar 27,3%. Dari hasil data perhitungan mean empirik dan mean hipotetik diketahui bahwa variabel self-esteem, memiliki mean hipotetik sebesar 57,5, mean empirik sebesar 52,43 dan standar deviasi sebesar 6,667. Sedangkan untuk variabel resiliensi, mean hipotetik sebesar 60, mean empiriknya sebesar 52,96 dan standar deviasi sebesar 7,557. Dari hasil tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa self-esteem dan resiliensi tergolong sedang. The aim of this research is to find out and empirically test the correlation between of selfesteem and resilience in overseas students at the Faculty of Psychology, Medan Area University. This research uses correlational research with a quantitative approach. The sample in this research consisted of 83 students. Based on the results of research analysis, it is known that there is a significant positive relationship between self-esteem and resilience seen from the coefficient value (r_xy) which has a value of 0.522 with a p or significance of 0.001 < 0.050, which means there is a relationship between self-esteem and resilience in overseas students at the Faculty of Psychology, Medan Area University. Likewise, the determinant coefficient (r²) value is 0.273, this is equivalent to 27.3%, meaning that self-esteem is correlated around 27.3%. From the results of the data calculating the empirical mean and hypothetical mean, it is known that the self-esteem variable has a hypothetical mean of 57.5, an empirical mean of 52.43 and a standard deviation of 6.667. Meanwhile, for the resilience variable, the hypothetical mean is 60, the empirical mean is 52.96 and the standard deviation is 7.557. From these results it can be seen that self-esteem and resilience are classified as moderate.
