dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kepribadian hardiness pada ibu dengan anak disabilitas intelektual di SLB Negeri Pembina Tingkat Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Dalam konteks keluarga, anak penyandang disabilitas sering kali menjadi pusat perhatian dan membutuhkan pengasuhan yang intensif dari ibu. Tantangan yang di hadapi antara lain adalah mengelola perilaku anak, memberikan pendidikan yang sesuai, dan menghadapi stigma sosial yang mungkin dialami keluarga. Dalam menghadapi situasi yang penuh tekanan ini, ibu diharapkan untuk menunjukkan ketahanan mental yang tinggi. Salah satu konsep psikologi yang relevan untuk memahami hal ini adalah kepribadian hardiness. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 67 ibu dengan anak disabilitas intelektual di SLB Negri Pembina Tingkat Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan jumlah sebanyak 67 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling. Total sampling adalah teknik pengambilan data dimana jumlah sampel sama dengan populasi. Skala penelitian menggunakan metode skala likert untuk kepribadian hardiness yang disusun berdasarkan aspek-aspek menurut Kobasa yaitu komitmen, kontrol dan tantangan. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan analisis deskriptif nilai extraction dari ketiga aspek yaitu komitmen 0.815, kontrol 0.795 dan tantangan 0.474 . Komitmen memiliki kontribusi terhadap kepribadian hardiness pada ibu yaitu sebesar 41%. Sedangkan aspek kontrol sebesar 37% dan aspek tantangan memiliki nilai terendah yaitu 22%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kepribadian Hardiness Pada Ibu Yang Memiliki Anak Disabilitas Intelektual Di SLB Negeri Pembina Tingkat Provinsi Sumatera Utara berkomitmen tinggi dibandingkan kontrol dan tantangan. This study aims to examine the hardiness personality in mothers of children with intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri Pembina, a state special needs school at the provincial level in North Sumatra. In the family context, children with disabilities often become the central focus and require intensive care from their mothers. The challenges encountered include managing the child’s behavior, providing appropriate education, and dealing with the social stigma that may affect the family. In facing these high-pressure situations, mothers are expected to demonstrate strong mental resilience. One relevant psychological concept to understand this phenomenon is the hardiness personality. This research employed a descriptive quantitative method. The population in this study consisted of 67 mothers of children with intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri Pembina, North Sumatra Province. The sample consisted of 67 respondents, selected using a total sampling technique, meaning the sample size was equal to the population. The measurement tool used was a Likert scale designed to assess hardiness personality, based on the dimensions proposed by Kobasa, which include commitment, control, and challenge. Based on the results of descriptive statistical analysis, the extraction values for the three dimensions were 0.815 for commitment, 0.795 for control, and 0.474 for challenge. The commitment dimension contributed 41% to the hardiness personality in mothers, the control dimension 37%, and the challenge dimension showed the lowest contribution at 22%. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the hardiness personality in mothers of children with intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri Pembina, North Sumatra Province, is predominantly characterized by a high level of commitment compared to control and challenge.en_US
