The problem is focused on deviant behavior of students that occurs in the Islamic boarding school environment influenced by peers. In order to approach this problem, the reference theory from Papalia on the aspect of peers and Sarwono's theory on the form of delinquency are used. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed quantitatively using simple linear regression. The study was conducted on 90 students at the Ad-Dhiya' Islamic Boarding School using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study showed that there was a significant positive influence between peers on delinquency of students with a coefficient of determination of 0.711 or 71.1%. This means that the stronger the influence of peers, the higher the level of delinquency of students. This study concludes that peers are a dominant factor influencing delinquent behavior among students. Therefore, it is important for Islamic boarding schools to supervise social interactions between students. |
