Representasi perjuangan hidup dalam film home Sweet Loan ( Analisis Semiotika ROland Barthes )

Abstract

Judul penelitian ini adalah Representasi Perjuangan Hidup Dalam Film Home Sweet Loan (Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perjuangan hidup Kaluna dalam film Home Sweet Loan melalui pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes dan mengetahui tanda-tanda visual dan naratif perjuangan hidup Kaluna yang direpresentasikan dalam film Home Sweet Loan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori semiotika Roland Barthes yang terbentang menjadi tiga sistem simbol, meliputi tingkatan denotasi (makna literal), konotasi (makna tersirat), dan mitos (ideologi sosial) (Rusmana, 2014: 200). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif interpretatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi film, dokumentasi adegan kunci, tinjauan pustaka, dan wawancara triangulasi dengan pakar psikologi. Hasil penelitian menemukan terdapat sepuluh representasi perjuangan hidup Kaluna dari adegan utama di dalam film “Home Sweet Loan” antara lain: multitasking kerja (denotasi: melelahkan; konotasi: beban multitasking perempuan; mitos: norma patriarki), memindahkan kamar ke kamar pembantu (denotasi: ketidaknyamanan fisik; konotasi: pengucilan emosional; mitos: hierarki keluarga tradisional), tabungan Rp330 juta untuk utang pinjol kakaknya (denotasi: transfer uang; konotasi: ketidakadilan gender; mitos: sistem ekonomi neoliberal), dan pencarian rumah impian melalui lima survei gagal (air keruh, ular, gangguan, kuburan, sejarah mutilasi) (denotasi: proses survei; konotasi: frustrasi; mitos: rumah ideal sebagai kesuksesan tidak mungkin), dengan mengacu pada hasil penelitian, maka tergambarkan tayangan-tayangan dalam film Home Sweet Loan sesuai dengan peta semiotika Roland Barthes serta isu sosial yang relevan seperti ketidakadilan gender dan pelecehan ekonomi. This research aims to find out Kaluna's life struggle in Home Sweet Loan film through Roland Barthes' semiotic approach and to find out the visual and narrative signs of Kaluna's life struggle represented in Home Sweet Loan film. The theory used in this research is Roland Barthes' semiotic theory which is spread into three symbol systems, including the level of denotation (literal meaning), connotation (implied meaning), and myth (social ideology) (Rusmana, 2014: 200). The research method used is interpretative qualitative research method, with data collection techniques including film observation, documentation of key scenes, literature review, and triangulation interviews with psychology experts. The results of the study found that there were ten representations of Kaluna's life struggles from the main scenes in the film "Home Sweet Loan" including: multitasking work (denotation: exhausting; connotation: burden of women's multitasking; myth: patriarchal norms), moving rooms to the maid's room (denotation: physical discomfort; connotation: emotional isolation; myth: traditional family hierarchy), saving IDR 330 million for her sister's loan debt (denotation: money transfer; connotation: gender injustice; myth: neoliberal economic system), and searching for a dream house through five failed surveys (murky water, snakes, disturbances, graves, history of mutilation) (denotation: survey process; connotation: frustration; myth: ideal house as success is impossible), by referring to the results of the study, the images in the film Home Sweet Loan are depicted in accordance with Roland Barthes' semiotic map as well as relevant social issues such as gender injustice and economic abuse.
