dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tanggapan mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Medan Area terhadap tayangan video “Keresahan Mahasiswi Tingkat Akhir” di kanal YouTube Cretivox, serta untuk menganalisis sikap mereka dalam menyikapi tayangan tersebut sebagai media baru melalui pendekatan interaksi sosial dan integrasi sosial. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teori media baru Pierre Lévy. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memberikan tanggapan positif karena video berhasil merepresentasikan keresahan nyata menjelang kelulusan, seperti kecemasan masa depan, tuntutan kemandirian, dan tekanan sosial. Sikap mahasiswa terlihat dalam keterlibatan aktif melalui interaksi sosial, seperti menonton rutin, memberi komentar, membagikan, dan mendiskusikan konten, sekaligus membangun integrasi sosial dengan memunculkan rasa kebersamaan serta kesadaran kolektif. Dengan demikian, YouTube berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga ruang refleksi sosial dan pembentukan identitas mahasiswa. This study aims to examine the responses of Communication Science students at Universitas Medan Area to the YouTube video “Keresahan Mahasiswi Tingkat Akhir” on the Cretivox channel, as well as to analyze their attitudes toward the video as a form of new media through the perspectives of social interaction and social integration. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method using Pierre Lévy’s new media theory. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings show that students responded positively because the video represents real anxieties faced before graduation, such as concerns about the future, demands for independence, and social pressures. Their attitudes are reflected in active engagement through social interaction, such as routine viewing, commenting, sharing, and discussing the content, while also fostering social integration by creating a sense of togetherness and collective awareness. Thus, YouTube functions not only as entertainment but also as a space for social reflection and the construction of student identity.en_US
