This study aims to determine the correlation between religiosity and hardiness in chronic disease patients at RSU Haji Medan with an age range of 30 to 80 years. This study used a quantitative correlational approach with a sample of 384 patients selected through accidental sampling technique. The research instrument used the Guttman scale to measure religiosity and hardiness. The results of data analysis showed a significant positive relationship between religiosity and hardiness with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.304 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.01). This indicates that the more positive the patient's religiosity, the more positive their hardiness. Religiosity contributed 9.2% to hardiness, while the rest was influenced by other factors. The empirical average of religiosity was 31.88 and hardiness was 24.01, both of which are in the very high category. This study is expected to provide practical contributions in the development of religiosity-based psychological interventions to improve the mental resilience of chronic disease patients. |
