This study aims to examine the relationship between learning motivation and academic achievement among students of SMP Swasta Yayasan Perguruan Advent Duri. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population consisted of all students, with a sample of 100 participants selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a learning motivation questionnaire and students’ report card scores as indicators of academic achievement. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and correlation analysis. The descriptive analysis revealed that students’ learning motivation was in the relatively high category with a mean score of 44.45, while their academic achievement had a mean score of 732.55 with considerable variation. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test indicated that the data were not normally distributed (p < 0.05); therefore, the correlation test was conducted using Spearman’s Rho. The results indicated a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and academic achievement (rho = 0.647; p < 0.001). In conclusion, the higher the students’ learning motivation, the better their academic achievement. This study highlights the importance of collaborative efforts from schools, teachers, and parents to foster students’ motivation in order to optimize academic performance.en_US
