Persepsi Generasi Muda Karo dalam Lirik Lagu Piso Surit di Desa Rumah Berastagi Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Persepi Generasi Muda Karo Dalam Lirik Lagu Piso Surit Di Desa Rumah Berastagi Kabupaten Karo. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, analisis persepsi James J.Gibson dan data diperoleh memalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Responden terdiri dari generasi muda berusia 17-22 tahun dan orang tua berumur 58 tahun, serta enam informan dari berbagai latar belakang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa generasi muda di Desa rumah berastagi sudah tidak banyak meminati lagu Piso Surit tersebut karena bagi mereka lagu ini melodi nya sangat lambat dan liriknya terlalu formal dan tidak modern bagi mereka untuk didengarkan setiap harinya, sementara generasi muda cenderung kurang familiar dan lebih tertarik pada musik modern karena , minimnya edukasi budaya, serta kurangnya ruang aktualisasi budaya lokal di lingkungan mereka. Dan bagi generasi tua etnik Karo di Desa Rumah Berastagi lagu Piso Surit ini masih banyak yg meminati disebabkan orang tua mereka sedari kecil telah memperdengarkan lagu Piso Surit tersebut. Meskipun demekian, Piso Surit tetap memiliki relevansi, terutama menggambarkan dinamika hubungan jarak jauh atau (LDR) dan nilai-nilai kesetiaan dalam percintaan yang masih dapat dirasakan oleh generasi muda sekarang. This study aims to analyze the perception of the Karo Young Generation in the lyrics of the Piso Surit song in Rumah Berastagi Village, Karo Regency. The approach used is qualitative, James J. Gibson's perception analysis and data obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. Respondents consisted of young people aged 17-22 years and parents aged 58 years, as well as six informants from various backgrounds. The results of the study show that the young generation in Rumah Berastagi Village is no longer interested in the Piso Surit song because for them the melody is very slow and the lyrics are too formal and not modern for them to listen to every day, while the younger generation tends to be less familiar and more interested in modern music because of the lack of cultural education, as well as the lack of space for actualization of local culture in their environment. And for the older generation of the Karo ethnic group in Rumah Berastagi Village, the Piso Surit song is still widely loved because their parents have played the Piso Surit song since childhood. Despite this, Piso Surit remains relevant, especially in depicting the dynamics of long-distance relationships (LDR) and the values of loyalty in love that can still be felt by today's young generation.
