Abstract: Komunikasi interpersonal merupakan elemen penting dalam dunia bisnis, termasuk dalam industri rental kostum cosplay yang memiliki karakteristik unik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran komunikasi interpersonal karyawan Kazaryuu Cosplay untuk meningkatkan penjualan di Kota Medan serta mengidentifikasi hambatan komunikasi interpersonal yang dihadapi. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Komunikasi Interpersonal Devito dan teori Personal Selling Kotler & Amstrong. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap owner, karyawan, dan konsumen Kazaryuu Cosplay. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal karyawan memiliki peran signifikan dalam membangun hubungan dengan konsumen melalui sikap dan sapaan hangat, menawarkan pelayanan, memberikan rekomendasi, menjelaskan produk, memberikan solusi atas keluhan, menjelaskan persyaratan sewa dan membantu menutup penjualan sesuai kesepakatan. Hambatan yang ditemukan dalam komunikasi meliputi ketidakjujuran konsumen, ketidakpuasan terhadap rekomendasi, sikap konsumen yang terlalu akrab, pelayanan yang kurang profesional, serta slowrespons melalui online. Interpersonal communication is an essential element in the business world, including in the costume rental industry for cosplay, which has its own unique characteristics. This study aims to analyze the role of interpersonal communication among employees at Kazaryuu Cosplay in increasing sales in Medan City, as well as to identify the interpersonal communication barriers they face. The theories used in this research are Devito’s Interpersonal Communication Theory and Kotler & Amstrong’s Personal Selling Theory. Using a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving the owner, employees, and customers of Kazaryuu Cosplay. The results of the study show that employees’ interpersonal communication plays a significant role in building relationships with customers through warm greetings and attitudes, offering services, providing recommendations, explaining products, resolving complaints, explaining rental terms, and assisting in closing sales based on mutual agreement. Communication barriers identified include consumer dishonesty, dissatisfaction with recommendations, overly familiar customer behavior, unprofessional service, and slow responses in online communication.
