| Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan Metode Maternal Reflektif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan wicara dan keterampilan sosial pada anak tunarungu di SLB-B Karya Murni Medan. Permasalahan yang diangkat mencakup rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi verbal dan interaksi sosial anak tunarungu yang berdampak pada perkembangan belajar dan adaptasi sosial mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi eksperimen jenis pretest- posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa tunarungu tingkat dasar yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi terstruktur menggunakan instrumen yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji-t untuk mengetahui perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan penerapan Metode Maternal Reflektif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan wicara dan keterampilan sosial anak tunarungu. Kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan skor rata-rata yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Peningkatan keterampilan wicara terlihat dari berbagai indikator, seperti kemampuan mengungkapkan ide/gagasan dengan vokal yang tepat, intonasi yang jelas, ucapan yang tepat, serta penggunaan urutan kata yang benar dan kelancaran berbicara. Penerapan metode ini juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterampilan sosial anak tunarungu, ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya kemampuan mereka dalam berinteraksi, merespons lawan bicara, dan menunjukkan sikap sosial yang sesuai. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi metode ini ke dalam program pembelajaran di SLB guna mendukung perkembangan menyeluruh peserta didik. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Maternal Reflective Method on improving speech skills and social skills in deaf children at SLB-B Karya Murni Medan. The problems raised include the low verbal communication and social interaction skills of deaf children which have an impact on their learning development and social adaptation. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi- experimental design of the pretest-posttest control group design type. The subjects of the study were elementary level deaf students who were divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through structured observations using instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using the t-test to determine the differences before and after treatment. The results showed that there was a significant effect of implementing the Maternal Reflective Method on improving speech skills and social skills of deaf children. The experimental group showed a higher average score increase than the control group. Improvement in speech skills can be seen from various indicators, such as the ability to express ideas/concepts with the right vocals, clear intonation, correct pronunciation, and use of correct word order and fluency in speaking. The application of this method also has a significant effect on the social skills of deaf children, as shown by the increase in their ability to interact, respond to their conversation partners, and demonstrate appropriate social attitudes. This study recommends the integration of this method into the learning program at SLB to support the comprehensive development of students. |
