Abstract: Penggunaan akun kedua (second account) di Instagram semakin umum di kalangan mahasiswa Generasi Z sebagai sarana ekspresi diri yang lebih terbuka dan pribadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh selfdisclosure terhadap self-esteem pada pengguna second account di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode regresi linier sederhana. Sampel sebanyak 96 mahasiswa dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa skala self-disclosure dan self-esteem yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif yang signifikan antara self-disclosure terhadap self-esteem dengan nilai korelasi sebesar r = 0,404 dan kontribusi efektif sebesar 16,3%. Artinya, semakin tinggi tingkat keterbukaan diri mahasiswa di second account, maka semakin tinggi pula harga diri yang mereka rasakan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman dampak psikologis dari aktivitas digital, serta mendorong pengembangan literasi emosional di kalangan mahasiswa. The use of second accounts on Instagram is increasingly common among Generation Z students as a platform for more open and personal self-expression. This study aims to examine the effect of self-disclosure on self-esteem among second account users at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Medan Area. This research used a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression method. A total of 96 students were selected using purposive sampling. Instruments included validated and reliable scales of self-disclosure and self-esteem. The results showed a significant positive effect of self-disclosure on self-esteem, with a correlation value of r = 0.404 and an effective contribution of 16.3%. This indicates that higher levels of self-disclosure on second accounts are associated with higher self-esteem. The findings contribute to the understanding of the psychological impact of digital activity and support emotional literacy development among university students.
