This study aims to determine the correlation between self-confidence and body shaming in female students at SMAS Methodist 1 Medan. The population in this study were all students of grade XI at SMAS Methodist 1 Medan totaling 205 students and the number of samples in this study was 50 female students. The sampling technique used was the Purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of the product moment correlation analysis calculation, it can be seen that there is a significant negative correlation between the self- confidence variable and the body shaming variable. This result is evidenced by the correlation coefficient rxy = -0.713 with a significant p = 0.000 <0.05. The determinant coefficient (r2) of the correlation between the independent variable and the dependent variable is r2 = 0.508. This shows that self-confidence is distributed by 50.8% to body shaming. While the remaining 49.2% is influenced by other variables not tested in the study. Based on the results of the mean test, it can be concluded that the self-confidence variable is classified as low with a hypothetical mean value of 92.5 and an empirical mean of 82.80. Furthermore, the body shaming variable can be concluded to obtain high results with a hypothetical value of 72.5 and an empirical value of 80.44.en_US
