The purpose of this study was to determine the secondary metabolite compounds contained in ethanol and n-Hexan extracts of telang leaves and to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol and n-Hexan extracts of telang leaves against Helicobacter pylori and Escherichia coli bacteria. This research is a laboratoryscale experimental quantitative study consisting of sample preparation, sample extraction and analysis of bacterial activity using the disc diffusion method. The presence of antibacterial activity is characterized by the formation of a clear zone of inhibition in the area around the disc paper. The test results showed that ethanol and n-Hexan extracts of telang leaves contained secondary metabolite compounds of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and terpenoids. The best concentration in inhibiting the growth of H. pylori was shown at a concentration of 75% and 100% with an inhibition zone diameter of 11.46 mm and 11.92 mm (weak category), while the best concentration in inhibiting the growth of E. coli was shown at a concentration of 100% with an inhibition zone diameter of 17.04 mm and 18.04 mm (medium category). | en_US |
