This study aims to examine the effectiveness of several acne gel and sheet mask products against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, one of the main bacteria responsible for acne on human skin. The research employed the disk diffusion method using five acne gel samples (ACL, ACN, NFC, EMP, WDH) and five sheet mask samples (MSH, NTR, LBT, NPR, PRD). The results showed that each product exhibited different antibacterial effectiveness. The acne gel coded ACL produced the largest inhibition zone of 37.15 mm, while the sheet mask coded NTR showed the highest inhibition zone of 11.05 mm against Staphylococcus aureus. The antibacterial activity was influenced by active compounds such as salicylic acid, niacinamide, allantoin, and plant extracts. This research provides scientific information regarding the effectiveness of skincare products in inhibiting acne-causing bacteria. |
