dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi pesan moral dalam drama Korea Queen of Tears dengan menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes. Drama ini dipilih karena kepopulerannya di kalangan penonton internasional serta kandungan nilai- nilai moral yang kuat dan menyentuh hati. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi langsung terhadap beberapa adegan penting dalam serial tersebut. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan tiga tingkatan makna Barthes, yaitu makna denotatif, konotatif, dan mitos. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Queen of Tears merepresentasikan berbagai pesan moral seperti pentingnya komunikasi dalam rumah tangga, ketulusan cinta pasangan, kesetiaan, pengorbanan demi orang yang dicintai, serta perjuangan menghadapi konflik keluarga dan penyakit. Adegan-adegan emosional, simbolik, serta dialog tokoh menjadi elemen penting dalam penyampaian pesan-pesan tersebut. Drama ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai media pendidikan karakter yang dapat membentuk nilai-nilai etis dan sosial di tengah masyarakat. This study aims to analyze the representation of moral messages in the Korean drama Queen of Tears using Roland Barthes's semiotic approach. This drama was chosen because of its popularity among international audiences and its strong and touching moral values. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques consisting of direct observation of several key scenes in the series. The analysis was conducted based on Barthes's three levels of meaning: denotative, connotative, and mythical. The results show that Queen of Tears represents various moral messages such as the importance of communication in a household, the sincerity of a couple's love, loyalty, sacrifice for loved ones, and the struggle to overcome family conflict and illness. Emotional and symbolic scenes, as well as character dialogue, are important elements in conveying these messages. This drama serves not only as entertainment but also as a medium for character education that can shape ethical and social values in society.en_US
