| Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan kecemasan menulis antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan pada Program Studi Psikologi Universitas Medan Area. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan signifikan tingkat kecemasan menulis berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif komparatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel convenience sampling. Jumlah partisipan sebanyak 56 mahasiswa, terdiri dari 26 laki-laki dan 30 perempuan. Pengambilan data menggunakan skala rating apprehension yang telah tervalidasi dan memiliki reliabilitas tinggi (α = 0,93). Uji normalitas dan homogenitas menunjukkan data terdistribusi normal dan homogen. Analisis data menggunakan uji independent samples t-test menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan kecemasan menulis antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan (p = 0.019), dengan tingkat kecemasan yang lebih tinggi pada mahasiswa perempuan. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa faktor gender berperan dalam tingkat kecemasan menulis mahasiswa pada konteks akademik tertentu. Temuan ini menjadi dasar penting bagi pengembangan strategi intervensi dalam mengurangi kecemasan menulis di lingkungan perkuliahan, khususnya bagi mahasiswa perempuan. This study aims to analyze the differences in writing anxiety between male and female students in the Psychology Study Program at the University of Medan Area. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a significant difference in the level of writing anxiety based on gender. This study uses a comparative quantitative approach with convenience sampling techniques. There were 56 participants, consisting of 26 male and 30 female students. Data collection used a validated apprehension rating scale with high reliability (α = 0.93). Normality and homogeneity tests showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. Data analysis using the independent samples t-test showed that there was a significant difference in writing anxiety between male and female students (p = 0.019), with higher anxiety levels among female students. These results indicate that gender plays a role in the level of writing anxiety among students in certain academic contexts. These findings provide an important basis for developing intervention strategies to reduce writing anxiety in the lecture environment, especially for female students. |
