This study aims to describe the stress coping mechanisms used by Indonesian Air Force personnel at Kosek Medan with the rank of Serda (Private First Class). Stress coping refers to an individual's efforts to manage pressure or demands perceived as exceeding their personal capacity. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach using a questionnaire based on Lazarus and Folkman's (1984) theory, which categorizes coping strategies into two aspect: problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping. The study involved 32 participants. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results show that personnel predominantly use problem-focused coping, with an average score of 64.19 (56%), compared to emotion-focused coping, which had an average score of 50.94 (44%). This indicates that the personnel tend to cope with stress through problem-solving strategies rather than emotional regulation. This research is expected to serve as a foundation for developing psychological training and mental health programs within the military to help personnel achieve more balanced and adaptive coping strategies.
