This study aims to empirically test and describe stress management in mothers of children with autism. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a population of 126 mothers of children with autism. The sample was determined through purposive sampling quota and obtained 35 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive contribution analysis techniques. The sampling technique in this study was quota sampling, namely the selection of samples based on a certain quota number from the population that met the criteria of mothers with children with autism who were ready to participate in the study. The results showed that the level of stress management in mothers with children with autism was in the high category, as indicated by the empirical average value of 84.26, higher than the hypothetical value of 75. Analysis of the contribution of coping strategies revealed that emotional-focused coping was more dominant (61%) than problem-focused coping (39%). These findings indicate that stress management in mothers is more done through emotional regulation strategies, such as accepting the child's condition, seeking social support, calming down, and increasing religious activities, compared to strategies that are directly oriented towards problem solving. |
