This study aims to examine the relationship between socioeconomic status and self-efficacy with the psychological well-being of students at SMP Negeri 1 Kota Banda Aceh. Psychological well-being is defined as a condition where individuals are able to accept themselves, form positive relationships, have life goals, and cope with environmental pressures independently. Parental socioeconomic status and students' level of self-efficacy are assumed to significantly contribute to the attainment of psychological well-being. This research employed a correlational quantitative approach. The subjects were 100 students selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used include the Psychological Well-Being Scale, Socioeconomic Status Scale, and Self-Efficacy Scale. Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results showed a significant positive relationship between socioeconomic status and psychological well-being, as well as between self-efficacy and psychological well-being. Furthermore, there was a significant joint contribution of both socioeconomic status and self-efficacy to students’ psychological well-being. These findings highlight the importance of family economic support and students’ self-confidence in fostering optimal psychological well-being in the school environment. |
