Effective disaster communication is crucial to ensure that information from monitoring institutions reaches the public promptly and clearly, enabling timely response. This study aims to examine the communication flow of the Sinabung eruption disaster from the Volcano Observation Post (PGA) to the community. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with informants from PGA, BPBD Karo, Simpang Empat Police Sector, village officials, and affected residents. The results indicate that disaster communication is conducted in a multi-layered system involving several actors with distinct roles. Public trust in local figures, such as village heads, plays a critical role in effective message delivery. Despite challenges such as limited signal access and difficult geography, communication continues through both formal and informal channels. This study concludes that an effective disaster communication system requires technical preparedness, strong social relationships, and cross-sectoral coordination to reduce risk and disaster impact comprehensively.en_US
